It could be overwhelming to someone new to meet them all --- they were definitely a clan. Jim and Peggy loved to travel and visited most of the United States. Laurie and Steve were stationed in Germany and they visited them three times over the years. Leaving behind a legacy of Christ-likeness and service, her family is thankful for her example.

Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her life. Betty was born November 21, 1925 in El Paso, TX to Earl P. and Fannie Prentiss. Betty attended University of Texas at El Paso, and New Mexico State University. On June 16, 1951 she and John M. Andrews were united in marriage in El Paso.

Madelene was passionate about visiting shut-ins in the community. They raised a big garden, and she canned hundreds of jars of vegetables and fruit during that time. She continued her tradition of canning fruit and picking up pecans after she and Bill were married. David was born April 22, 1943 in Frederick, OK to John David and Bonnie Belll Pennycuff. After graduating from school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army.
On August 5, 1960 he and Sandra Kay Folks were united in marriage in Wichita Falls, TX. He worked for Halliburton for many years, before his retirement in 1998. Jerry was an excellent golfer, and enjoyed playing golf with his friends. He was an avid OU Sooners fan, and an Oklahoma City Thunder fan.

At the age of 15 the family moved to Duncan, where Rickey graduated from Duncan High School in 1995. Thomas Jefferson Craft, of Corpus Christi TX passed away on September 22, 2018. We have lost one of the wisest and kindest people that we’ve ever known. He had quite a sense of humor, and was never above pulling someone’s leg to get them to smile and laugh.
He was always friendly, he was a hugger, and he was definitely a jokester. He loved to pester and give people a hard time, but it was always with a smiling face. He was a man of integrity, morals, strength, humility, and gentleness. He wasn’t big on saying, “I love you”, but there was never a doubt that he was full of love and deeply cared for those close to him. All in all, Mikie Powers was the epitome of a good man. He enjoyed going on Carnival cruises, weekend road trips, hosting Easter Egg hunts, and cooking out on his homemade fire pit.

Those seeking rejuvenative solitude can find it in Belize’s wide open nature, meaning minimal contact and time to self – unfettered by family or work obligations. Social distancing regulations, paired with lower risks of contracting the virus in open spaces, leaves travelers opting for adventure in nature. After all, spending time in nature reduces negative thought patterns, stress, and depression – ultimately making us happier. While you may not have been a traditionally ‘outdoorsy’ person pre-pandemic, these experiences in solitude make it easy, with either wind-swept transportation, self-guided trails, or a suite of “at-home” luxuries in far-flung lodges.
